Big fan of the show fellas. Getting ready for my 10 team, 8 Cat (TO, not 3pointers – so its pts, ast, reb, blk, stl,fg%,ft%,to) draft next Saturday. My league clearly favors big men and I have the 2nd pick. I’m expecting many of the big center names to come off in the 2nd round(Boogie,Whiteside,Turner,Gobert), so I’m leaning towards KAT or AD with the second pick…GA is also tempting, but like I said, dearth at big men. What do you suggest? Thanks!

Thanks my man! KAT is 100% the play at 2. I personally (this is Welsh speaking) am going GA 2 if KAT goes 1 no matter what, regardless of missing out on the big man, because GA also does a lot of what you’re looking for, from big men. Gobert or Turner would be amazing, but you can still put together a good set of big men. No 3’s you could punt FT% (though It’s not the best to do in an 8CAT) but I did just that in our 16 man secret show, where all the big men went. It worked out, as I projected to finish first. Otherwise you can still get Marc Gasol maybe in the 3rd, possibly Horford or Nurk in the 4th. GA and KAT are just 100% my 1 and 2. Hope it helps!

I would also echo Welsh that GA is da dude in MIL so he will cover pretty much all stats (more blocks than KAT) and he has the potential to shoot 80% FT so definitely do not go into the draft punting FT% in a 8 cat. You can get Love, Marc or Horford or Lopez or Aldridge to make up for your FT% and definitely pair with Lowry, Lillard or McCollum and you have a balanced team to start with. If you are doing punting, you must get Dwight and Drummond or Capela and you can get them way after 6th round so there are still bigs in mid and late rounds. Pick 2nd is really about whom you gonna pair with so make sure you have all categories covered with the first two/three picks, then you are off to a good start.

You can also see from the latest mock from The Welsh. He took PG in his first two rounds (CP3 & Wall) and didn’t take a center until 4th round (Lopez). I was perplexed when he took Melo as another inside presence and Pau as his other center. So he clearly must be punting REB and BLK. Question, can these players provide high %? If so, he can still squeeze out victories, if not, his team will struggle.
