ITL Army IDP League First Quarter Update

Published

on

Hello there, ITL Nation! FAM here! We are (roughly) a third of the way through the fantasy football season already! Can you believe it? Remember just a few weeks ago, when we doing multiple mock drafts a day, trying to figure out the perfect ADP for every single draft slot? Wait, was that just me? My, how quickly those pre-season ranks fall by the waste side. Before we jump into the current state of the SoMuchFun IDP League, let me remind how much fun it is being in the ITL Army – you get even more access to Bogman and the Welsh, including GroupMe room access, up-to-date rankings, secret shows, and first crack into mock drafts. In my opinion, being in the GroupMe rooms and interacting with all of the other Army members, is well worth the price of admission.

It’s been quite an interesting start to the 3rd season of the IDP League, not unlike the actual NFL season. As I said in my first article, due to the competitive nature of the league, only three of the sixteen teams have made the playoffs in the first two years of its existence – those three teams have a combined 5-7 record so far. There has only been one trade up to this point, with James White, Mohammed Sanu and a 30th round pick going from Cornfield to Evan for a 6th round pick. That’s not for a lack of trying, however – a few of the lower ranked teams are already trying to sell off some pieces for future draft capital. Oh, and, Dan Bailey went for a higher FAAB bid than Ryan Fitzpatrick, which is certainly something to look back at and ponder.

Joe, the defending champion, has started off slow this year. He’s only averaged 146 points/game, but maybe he’ll start to turn it around with Carson Wentz coming back. On the other side, there are still two undefeated teams remaining, with Trevor and Mark/Stevie leading the way. Trevor’s Team (which is a classic team name) is averaging a ridiculous 222 points/game, but those things tend to happen when you have the best QB of all time.  Yours truly is sitting at a mediocre 2-2, and I currently have seven players listed as questionable, which is always fun. And yes, I’m still bitter about losing my week two matchup 216.60-219.48.

Bogman and the Welsh have, unfortunately, started in opposite directions so far. Despite scoring over 186 points per game, Bogman has yet to get his first win. Although Tyreek Hill, James Conner, Matt Milano, and Budda Baker are playing well, Trey Burton, Robby Anderson, Ezekiel Ansah, and Deone Bucannon have gotten off to slow starts. He also has Mike Wallace and Mark Ingram on his bench, so hopefully, he’ll start getting some wins once they get healthy. Welsh, the fantastic Shania Twain impersonator that he is, has started off strong (despite the lack of Le’Veon Bell) with a 3-1 record, thanks to Carlos Hyde, Emmanuel Sanders, A-Aron Rodgers, Jordan Hicks, and Cory Littleton all having strong starts.
