1) Eloy Jimenez OF

Eloy is a really impressive player in person. He’s size jumps out, and most importantly the sound of the ball hitting the bat, is unforgettable. I caught him multiple times in the 2016 AFL when he was still with the Cubs. Everything he hit was hard. He continued that as he moved to the White Sox in 2017 and hit over .300 and 19 HR. What has been so impressive is the pitch recognition he’s developed with a knack for not getting lost in heavy AVG slumps or strikeout parties. Don’t get me wrong, those will be there, especially as he moves up, but I believe Eloy is a future .270 – .300 hitter that could top 40 in his prime. It’s tough to project those type of HR’s in the lower level of the minors, but it’s one of the reasons he is so special, and a no doubt top 10 overall prospect.

2) Michael Kopech SP

My man crush on Kopech is well document over a few years now, especially with the ITL Army. Following his 2016 suspension for some off the field stuff, Kopech spent time in the AFL. I was able to talk with him, see him pitch and see the work he put in charting pitching on off days. I have always been so impressed with how he carries himself and unafraid at any challenge. He throws triple digits, a power slider and can drop a changeup. Control is always going to be his thing, but he is an incredible athlete. That athleticism I think is going to carry him far, but that same thing does worry some. There is a believe some of the over throwing could lead to injuries (TJ a serious worry), but I personally don’t play the “he’s TJ waiting to happen” game that many do. I will stick with the talent I’ve seen, and he is a top 15 overall prospect for me.

3) Luis Robert OF

Robert (said like the common first name) continues the insane top end talent of the White Sox. He’s often compared to fellow countrymen Yoan Moncada, for similar abilities. Robert displays a loud bat that is going to generate serious in-game power, as long as the contact follows. He’s susceptible to some strikeout issues, but I am really impressed with some of the early stuff we’ve seen. He’s got plus speed which instantly puts him as a 5-tool potential prospect. This coming year is his first state side action, so we’ll have to monitor as we go, but I am aggressive in my ownership.

4) Alec Hansen SP

Say hello to the strikeout leader in 2017. The 6’7 righty is a force. Plus Plus fastball, hard slider and a power curve put him in place to have such an insane 11.39, 12.65 and 14.81 K/9 for a starter, which got better at each stop last year btw. Like a lot of power pitchers, repeatability is an issue, and staying on top of his pitches. One thing I really like, is despite the strikeouts last year, not enough people have really bought into his rise. He’s a top 100 prospect, and a target in the post 65 range.

5) Dylan Cease

Cease came over from Chicago, and jumped right into the mix of the incredible minor league rotation the Sox have. Cease is a power FB/CURVE guy. I caught him during a Sox instruct game. He was interesting as he really kept more to himself either charting pitches or talking to coaches. He didn’t pitch more than a bullpen session, due to an injury recovery. That has followed him, and I have a general concern long term with Cease, but as I’ve said before, I don’t think to much about the what if with injury.

6) Dane Dunning SP

7) Blake Rutherford OF

8) Jake Burger 3B

9) Zack Collins C

10) Carson Fulmer SP
