1) Vladimir Guerrero Jr 3B

MLB gave their first ever 80 grade hit grade to Vlad Jr, and I am down with that. He is a special hitter. He hit .323 in almost 500 AB’s with 13 HR’s and more walks than strikeouts. His combination of bat speed, plate discipline and pitch recognition have put him in an elite category. The way he dominated at 18 years old across two levels of A-ball shouldn’t be taken lightly. I have openly struggled with Acuna vs Vlad Jr, because I believe he will have a better AVG and HR total than Acuna. The Run/RBI numbers are tough to gauge, and Acuna of course will take the stolen base numbers. He is my no doubt number two overall player and I’d be aggressive as it gets to own Vlad Jr.

2) Bo Bichette SS

For everything that Vlad Jr is you’d naturally think there is a big drop off to the next prospect, but not with Bichette. He was able to take down a minor league batting title at 19 years old. Like Vlad he’s got some crazy bat speed, possibly more. A bigger difference is the violence in his swing. There is a lot of business, which would make you think he’d struggle with his AVG, but that wasn’t the case. Bichette doesn’t strike out a ton, showed some nice power, and even stole 22 bases. I think the speed will slowly come down, as the power rises. Bichette might move off from SS at some point, but I absolutely love having shares of him and consider him a top 10 prospect.

3) Anthony Alford OF

Alford a former football player, has shown great development over the past few years. I saw him in the 2016 AFL. He looked solid hitting for power and displaying his speed. 2017 the power kicked back a bit, but he was able hit .299 and steal 19 bases in 278 AB’s. He was also able to get some time in the majors. Alford has the potential to go 30/30 if everything worked out. I’d monitor if this year he sells out for power and if it costs his AVG.

4) Nate Pearson SP

In a 2017 draft that had a few huge fastballs like Hunter Greene and MacKenzie Gore, Pearson is an underrated power arm that can be had in later rounds. His secondary offerings are going to take a bit to keep developing, as well as his control. There could be some relief risk since the fastball is the big dog, but he also did have a stellar pro debut. He struck out 26 over 20 innings with a 0.90 ERA. Pearson is one of my favorite pitchers around the 100 range.

5) T.J. Zeuch SP

Zeuch for me was a pleasant surprise in 2017. He had an ok regular season striking out 51 over 65 innings and a 3 ½ ERA. The surprise was when I saw him in the fall league. He looked like a polished starter who could go deep into the game and keep his pitches. He started the game in the AFL that was one out away from a no hitter. Nothing he does is elite, but his fastball, curveball and slider all work well with decent command. I don’t know if he has major upside, but I could see him as a SP3 with the team, and SP4 or SP5 in fantasy.

6) Logan Warmoth SS

7) Lourdes Gurriel INF

8) Eric Pardinho SP

9) Rowdy Tellez 1B

10) Miguel Hiraldo SS
